Is Toshiba scamming it's customer's?

It has not been long that Toshiba president resigned because of a $1.7 billion scam and now we think it's happening all over again. A live case study....

While every computer brand name like Dell, HP, Asus, Lenovo, Sony, Acer, Compaq etc.... has one technical support team. Toshiba has 2 technical support division's. This is just the beginning.....

When you call Toshiba Technical support for laptops you get an computer voice which will ask you to speak out your requirement like "Say Tech Support for support with Laptops" and say Yes to confirm. If you are at home o are at a place with silent background then you will be able to bypass the IVR and get to the Toshiba Tech Support however if the computer voice does not understand you then it will ask you to enter the choice using the keypad like 1 for tech support and so on.... now if you press the numbers then you get connected to a different technical support all together which is a paid division. SHOCKING. Why would they have two teams doing the same thing? So we investigated this further.....

We found that the second team is actually a team who generates revenue by scamming it's customer's... we called them saying that the browser is not working and the tech guy said that they would connect to the computer and check the issue... so they user Log-me in and remote desktop software used to connect to computers. So now they were on our laptop and now thus gets more shocking... the tech guy showed us the Event Viewer files which had Error Warning messages now anyone with computer knowledge would know that these errors and warning are on every computer and does not mean you have a problem. But the Toshiba technical support guys had something else in mind, they said the computer had a virus in it and the only way to make it right was to clean the computer and re-install Windows drivers.

They asked for $200.00 for them to fix it, so here is what we did.... while the Toshiba tech guy was connected to the computer we fixed the browser issue right in front of him. We just hit reset in Internet Options and it was done. The Toshiba computer guy constantly stopped us by saying this will damage the computer and you will not get any support over the phone.

We disconnected there remote access from the computer and asked why did they give all incorrect information and was it just to take money out of people who know less about computers? The Toshiba representative was furious and his voice was not comforting (anger). Toshiba technical support is based in Philippines apart from the language barrier there are a lot of things different in this company.
